What would you say if I told you that by making one little change, you could be happier? Well it’s true…and all it involves is incorporating a little gratitude into your life.

According to Psychology Today, a study of gratitude journaling showed that people who tracked their gratitude once a week were happier after six weeks. Yup, just by writing down a few things you’re grateful for on a weekly basis, you can increase your happiness. In fact, if you started today, you’d be happier by the end of the year.

You don’t have to share what you write with anyone, just do it. I can almost guarantee it’ll be a positive change.

I’m happy to share 3 things I’m grateful for this week:

1. A totally relaxing weekend by the shore, including a wonderful drive with two of my boys around the University of Rhode Island.

2. Lessons of having patience and keeping things in perspective. Sometimes having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day is a perfect reminder to appreciate the many good days I’m so fortunate to have.

3. Learning about the art of listening and how I can improve my listening skills. Listening to someone with deep focus and empathy is one of the most special gifts you can give someone. I have a lot to learn in this area, but I’m so happy to have a strong mentor who is teaching me so much.

What’s something you’re grateful for this week?
