Each Friday when I reflect on what I'm grateful for during the previous week, there are a long list of things for which I am perpetually grateful, but they're too numerous to include. This week, it's especially appropriate for me to highlight one of those constant sources of gratitude. Every single day, I am profoundly grateful for the men and women who protect our freedom both overseas and on our homeland—as well as their families. I am ever awed by their bravery and sacrifice on my behalf, and can never fully express my thankfulness to the children, spouses and parents who go to bed and wake up without their loved one to hug and to hold, whether temporarily or tragically, permanently. I can think of no nobler cause, and I respectfully salute all who have ever served in our military and their families.
