I’m a huge believer in having an attitude of gratitude. Life can get a little crazy, and having an attitude of gratitude helps keep things in perspective and gives you an opportunity to reflect on the positive stuff. Writing a gratitude journal is a cool way to focus on the good things in your life, so without further ado, here’s my gratitude journal for this week:
• What am I most grateful for this week? The Phonak NaÃda hearing aid that Ben received! Ben was born with severe-profound hearing loss in both ears, and has worn hearing aids since the age of three months. In nearly 17 years, the technology has advanced dramatically, and this latest aid is the most powerful , cutting edge technology yet. Every nuance gives him a tiny bit better hearing, and when I see his audiogram and realize how poor his natural hearing is, I’m awed at how well he’s done and how hard this kid has worked.
• As I addressed our holiday cards this week, I felt so blessed to have such an amazing array of people in my life. To see the list of friends I’ve been fortunate to collect throughout the years brings such happiness, and it’s wonderful to keep in touch with so many. I’m also very thankful to friends who remember us each year with their beautiful cards, and I love to see their families grow and hear about their lives.
• At holiday time, I’m thankful to be able to give a little token of appreciation to the many amazing folks who help our family throughout the year. School teachers and advisors, music teachers, tutors, our beloved part-time housekeeper (without whom I would be tethered to a washing machine!)…we’re always grateful to these special people and we love to show them our thanks at this time of year.
• Sometimes the stars are aligned, and you just have the best weekend-and last weekend was one of those times. It was filled with good health, fun, relaxation, love, and deliciousness. One of the highlights was “An Evening with Patti Lupone and Mandy Patinkin” – please check out the latest episode of Date Night to hear about the show!
How bout you? What’s one thing-big or small-that you’re grateful for this week?
