NYC Restaurants

Sasabune

Sasabune Sushi | Upper East Side

401 E 73rd St (bet York & 1st)

212.249.8583

www.sasabunenyc.com

Notes: Small, completely unadorned space serving absurdly fresh, gorgeously-sliced delicacies from the sea. Omakase only, plus you can add some pieces at the end. The service is quick but friendly, and heed your server’s stern but well-intentioned guidance about which pieces to dip into soy sauce.

Sarabeth’s

Sarabeth’s American | Various locations

www.sarabeth.com

Notes: Yummy goodies like pancakes, waffles and eggs for breakfast and brunch. Check the website for locations.

Shake Shack

Shake Shack Fast Food Burger | Multiple locations

www.shakeshack.com

Notes: We’re lucky enough to have a Shack just a couple miles from our house in Connecticut, so it’s no longer a special treat to have when we’re in the city. But it’s a great place for a quick, inexpensive lunch or dinner with lots of locations around the area. We love the burgers and crinkle-cut fries, and don’t miss the yummy root beer. Check the website for locations.

Daniel

Daniel French | Upper East Side

60 E 65th St (bet Madison & Park)

212.288.0033

Notes: Lavish perfection for special occasions. Breathtaking formal dining room. The same flawless food and impeccable service is available in the lounge, although the lounge tables are uncomfortable.
