Date Night

What a surprisingly delicious meal we had at Angle, the fine dining restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach. We were recently in town on vacation, and this dinner was hands-down the standout meal of our trip. Kudos to creative young chef de cuisine, Matthew McGhee for his inspired sea bass dish—and for the very memorable dessert that we’re still talking about!

We sure love our date nights! And what better place to have a date than New York City during the holiday season. The city was filled with happy tourists bursting with holiday spirit; drunk caroling mobs dressed in Santa suits celebrating Santa Con; and lots of twinkly, festive lights. We started with a romantic dinner at the bar at Aureole, followed by a lovely performance by music and theatre legends Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin in a limited engagement at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Never thought I’d be in a room singing, “Happy birrrrthday dearrr Sting…” What a grand and glorious evening at the Beacon Theatre in New York City to celebrate Sting’s 60th birthday! The bash was star-studded affair, with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Mary J Blige, Rufus Wainwright, Herbie Hancock, will.i.am, Branford Marsalis, Chris Botti, and Robert Downey, Jr joining Sting on stage to perform songs from his legendary catalog. Quite a cool date night!

There simply aren’t enough accolades for the recent dinner we enjoyed at the Inn at Little Washington in Washington, VA. For the numerous reasons we discuss in this webisode, we’re deeming it the finest meal we’ve ever had in North America.
